On May 25-27, 2019, Center for Behavioral Sciences staff—including CBS’ Director, Joyce Tu, Ed.D., BCBA-D, Clinical Director Shaji Haq, Ph.D., BCBA-D, Behavior Consultant Alex Silva, MA, BCBA, and Dr. Fahad Alresheed—attended the Association for Behavior Analysis International’s (ABAI) 45th Annual Convention in Chicago. The ABAI convention is always a great opportunity to exchange ideas with behavior analysts from around the world.
At this year’s convention, Dr. Haq and Dr. Alresheed each presented their original research (conducted jointly with other members of the CBS team), including recent studies entitled, “Behavioral Treatment of Problems Behavior Evoked by Bodily Sounds in an Adult with Autism,” and “Assessment and Treatment of Problem Behavior Displayed by an Individual Diagnosed with Autism and Obesity.” After painstaking long-term research, it was gratifying to share feedback with our behavior analysis colleagues!
Since 1974, ABAI has been the primary membership organization for those interested in the science, philosophy, application and teaching of behavior analysis. CBS was thrilled to participate in the ABAI convention again this year, and we’re proud of our ongoing contributions to the applied behavior analysis field—as scientific researchers as well as practitioners. We are also deeply grateful to all study participants!
